A new version of Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia

July 12 @ 8:00 pm

€10 – €41

Why a person that apparently has everything would long for the end of the world? With this premise, the film Melancholia directed by the iconic Lars Von Trier shows us the world of Justine, that could be the life of everyone else nowadays.

If Lars Von Triers wants to show just a portrait of a sick woman or represent the feelings of a whole generation, is something we have to discover. Endings can be sometimes new beginnings, or maybe not.

The Danish director distinguishes himself for his darkness and his point of view of humanity, for good, and for bad. The playwright Felix Rothenhäusler makes an interpretation of the film in the theatre play with the same name, turning the apocalyptic atmosphere of the movie into a passionate thoughtful piece.

Melancholia is shown in German with English subtitles. You have several opportunities to watch this adaptation of Melancholia on the 7th, 12th, 16th and 26th of July at 8 pm. The end of the world could be more beautiful than you think.
