Opening: Post-Feminism Exhibition
June 14, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pmFree
The future is female. Or at least is what we want to believe. This is not a trend, is a reality, thousands of women (and also men) are fighting against patriarchy and sexist bad habits acquired since the beginning of time. This is not a struggle that only concern to women, it’s also important the men get involved in this revolution, because togehter we can do better things.
Post-feminism is a mixture of feminism, pop culture, and feminity. This new era is marked by the fact that the next step is to not distinguish between gender. Gender is no longer something to define the roles on the society, and it’s something secondary when we talk about people.
People need to have the right to choose in every moment of their lives, what they want, without being judged. The exhibition Post-Feminism take a closer look at the image of women in the 21. century, which moves between self-empowerment and self-submission. How women, men, and transgender people live their sexuality? What does it mean to be an emancipated woman?
These and other questions are what we will see at this groundbreaking exhibition curated by Estella Vallender with the works of art of Natalie Baxter, Magnus Hastings, Cécile Hoodie, Lene Kilde, Samantha Gray, Sarah Maxwell and Sophia Süßmilch.
*The exhibition Post-Feminism will take place from 15th of June until 13th of July 2018. The opening day will be on 14th of June 2018.
