Radio 80000 in Kunstverein
December 7 @ 10:00 am - December 16 @ 10:00 pm
We have talked about Radio 8000 before, and as you may know we love this independent radio in Munich. During the next days, the radio station will be located at Kunstverein München, occupying the Foyer, the Schaufenster am Hofgarten and the website.
In this online non-commercial radio you can listen to experimental music, retro sounds, tropical rhythms, electronic and all kind of music. Here the borders don’t exist and different genres live together in harmony. Openness and freshness are two qualities you will find in Radio 80000, with daily broadcasted shows curated by over 80 hosts.
Founded by Felix Flemmer and Leonard Bauer in 2015, this radio works also as a platform, promoting collaboration and cultural expression through music and events. From 7 to 16 December and connecting the local and the global, they will network and share programming with similarly independent radio stations from various parts of the world, including Brownehill Radio (Lagos, NG), Netil Radio (London, GB), Radio Beirut (Beirut, LB), Radio Raheem (Mailand, IT), Radio Bollwerk (Bern, CH), Internet Public Radio (Guadalajara, MX), HKCR (Hong Kong) and many others. The ground floor of Kunstverein München will be converted into an ‘open studio’ from 10 am to 10 pm, with unique live music and radio programs that can be heard directly there, but also online on the Kunstverein and Radio 80000 respective websites.
At the end of this collaboration, a publication with the impressions and experiences of different authors involved in this event will be produced, as a way to expose this cultural and musical exchange. Radio is not dead!
