The Shape Of Water
February 26, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - February 28, 2018 @ 11:00 pm€7
Love can be strange sometimes. And as they said, love is blind. The Shape Of Water is the Guillermo del Toro‘s new film, about a weird relationship between Elisa, a mute cleaner in a secret government laboratory, and a humanoid-amphibian creature who lives in a tank.
Del Toro was inspired by his memories of the film Creature From The Black Lagoon, and at the beginning, he wanted to tell the story from the perspective of the creature, but this idea was rejected by the studio executives, so finally the story is told under the gaze of Elisa, the female protagonist.
The plot takes place during the Cold War era in 1962 and it’s an unconventional fairy tale acclaimed by critics all over the world. It won the Golden Lion for best film at the 74th Venice International Film Festival and also the prize for best director and best soundtrack at the Golden Globes. Love can be something out of this world. don’t you think?
